Our program has three major components, aimed at overcoming the vicious cycle of poor supply and inadequate demand for recycled material that plagues most cities today:

- We improve supply of recyclable waste at the source through better design of collection systems and behavioral nudges.
- We build community recycling systems that drive cost efficiency and ethical operations in sorting, logistics, and processing of recyclable waste.
- We work to stabilize recycling demand and unlock better pricing by streamlining and bringing transparency to the full recycling value chain.

Our goal is to create a replicable model for managing waste that cities around the world will adopt.

We are looking for a passionate, high-performing Associate to drive our demand side work, helping to create new and better markets for materials to be sorted and recycled. The role will require a high degree of entrepreneurialism, a strong can-do mentality and a proactive approach.

Specific responsibilities for the Digital and Demand Associate are outlined below:

- Support the development and delivery of Delterra's Demand efforts in Argentina connecting cooperatives and sorting centers with off-takers and end markets, and proactively exploring new opportunities for recycling materials
- Implement our material traceability tool nationally, leading conversations with sorting centers, cooperatives, aggregators and recyclers. Coordinate and conduct staff training on the use of our digital solutions, manage change resistance and staff concerns, to make sure they are embedded in the day-to-day operations
- Build/deepen relationships with critical stakeholders and program partners in Argentina and globally to support mission delivery for both current and future programming
- Remain accessible to all members of the team as a thought partner
- Codify learnings from the program to ensure replicability and scalability, as well as cross-geography learnings. Inform the build-out of Delterra Academia in which these learnings are shared with cities in our programs

The Demand Associate will report directly to the Demand team lead, with strong linkage to the Argentina Digital team.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- 1+ years of work experience in a high-performing and diverse teams. Experience in delivering digital tools with diverse stakeholders is a plus.
- Experience in managing relations with a range of different stakeholders from the public to private sector
- Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills, able to identify key insights from data
- Demonstrated aptitude in conceptual problem solving (e.g., distilling themes from team members debriefs)
- Demonstrated aptitude to coordinate work delivery within a team and align multiple stakeholders outside core team towards a common ambition
- Solutions-oriented and pragmatic mindset; ability to thrive in "build the plane as you fly it" environments: comfortable managing the ambiguity and risks inherent to innovation; adapting to the situation at hand; staying positive and creative in the face of setbacks and driving rapid progress
- Minimum a Bachelor Education in Environmental, Public Policy, Development, Economics, Business, Engineering and/or relevant fields
- Native fluency in Spanish and professional fluency in English
- Plusses include:

- Experience working in social programs and building trust-based relationships with marginalized communities
- Expertise in sustainability topics (e.g., waste management, circular economy, corporate social responsibility, economic development) and/or related industries (e.g., fast-moving consumer goods, manufacturing, municipal services/utilities)

**Further details**:

- This position will be based in Argentina. Extensive travel within Argentina will be required (including individual travel)
- We will give preference for applicants who are based in Buenos Aires; however, we will also accept applicants based elsewhere as long as they are in a similar time zone
