**Wholesale Credit Risk assesses, permissions, and manages credit and counterparty risks on an industry, client, geographic, and transaction basis. The Analyst will utilize their superior analytical skills, combined with credit and industry knowledge, to make and support credit recommendations for a portfolio of clients. They collaborate across credit risk and the business teams to meet client credit requests, while balancing the risk-return needs of the Firm. They constantly monitor their portfolio to accurately assign risk ratings to clients and facilities, while ensuring a robust culture of compliance is adhered to at all times. The current open position is a role in Wholesale Credit Risk working on the North American Public Finance teams working with a portfolio of municipal governments, not-for-profit healthcare and higher education organizations located in the United States.**

**Specifically, as a Credit Risk Analyst in Wholesale Credit Risk you will**:

- Conduct credit analysis and help deal teams seek approval for lending and trading related transactions, including operating exposures, individually or as part of a deal team
- Create written credit approval documents, which include the spreading and presentation of historical financial statement information and the related financial analysis
- Develop a well-informed and forward-looking view of the business, financial and competitive risks associated for an organization and its sector
- Manage and monitor a portfolio of client credit exposures, across industry classes, on an ongoing basis
- Take ownership of special projects and provide creative suggestions to enhance output
- Provide a cohesive and comprehensive approach to review ratings, risk assessment, portfolios, clients and industries in their sector
- Present quarterly and annual risk reviews and tiering analyses
- Review and assign risk ratings and maintain updated credit research on the various sectors
- Help drive and support innovation and continuous efficiency improvements

Qualifications:

- Excellent accounting and corporate finance expertise
- BA/BAA degree required.
- Academic training in the principals of accounting, corporate finance capital markets products, and macro economics
- Some credit/underwriting credentials, analytical skills, and experience is a plus
- Strong analytical and financial assessment ability
- Outstanding verbal and written communication, along with strong inter-personal skills
- An exceptional work ethic
- Highly motivated with a natural passion to learn and an inquisitive personality
- Ability to work well under pressure on teams in a demanding environment
- Capable of understanding, describing, and debating complex concepts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
