**About the team**

The Electronics team is responsible for the design of all electronic devices of our satellites, the definition of electrical design standards for the company and the delivery of fully validated electronic devices. You will be reporting to the Head of Electronic Engineering as well as to the Project Managers of your assigned projects. The team is always learning and trying to push the limits, relying in part on the large diversity of people’s profiles and backgrounds.

**About the position**

As an FPGA engineer you will be responsible for the selection, development, and integration of FPGA’s that implement functionality on earth observation satellites, covering low-level hardware control & status for embedded systems, high level IP blocks, high speed links and custom algorithms and filters. This role will involve working in a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to specify, design, support manufacturing, validation & maintenance of electronic circuit boards containing FPGA’s used in aerospace electronics.

**Location**

The preferred location is Buenos Aires, however other options may be considered. Availability to travel to the Pilot Plant facilities in Montevideo (Uruguay) is required.

**Responsibilities**
- Design, describe, verify and document IP Cores.
- Review, test and document existing IP Cores.
- Participate in software/hardware integration and testing in our plant facilities.
- Create design documents and interact with our software and hardware designers.
- Design and document validation procedures.
- Keep up with new technology trends to bring new ideas to the satellite.
- Identify opportunities of improvement of existing satellite designs.
- Participate in the definition and improvement of the team guidelines.

**About you**

**Experience**
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience working with FPGAs.
**Desirable experience**:

- Experience using Actel/Microsemi and Xilinx FPGAs and their design tools.
- Experience with PCIe, Image processing, Processors (codesign) is a strong plus.
- Experience with AMBA buses and high speed serial interfaces (SerDes).
- Knowledge of design and verification environments and tools.
- Experience with open source tools (nmigen, hdlmake, iverilog, ghdl, gtkwave, cocotb, yosys).

**Skills**
- Hardware description in Verilog and/or VHDL.
- Strong experience developing VHDL/Verilog testbenches and usage of simulation tools/debug environments.
- Experience in hardware testing and debugging.
- Good written and verbal communications skills in English.
- Familiarity with Linux OS.
- Experience in programming and scripting (eg C, Python, Bash Shell, Tcl).
- Experience with version control and repository management (Git, SVN).
