**YOUR POSITION WITH TNC**:
The Gran Chaco Lead will be responsible for supervising a variety of technical activities and carrying out the management in Argentina and Paraguay of the Regional Program for Adaptation based on Ecosystems for Regenerative Livestock and Agriculture (EbA-R2A) financed by the IKI (International Climate Initiative), it must exchange experiences and coordinate in a linked way the multinational activities with its peers from Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. The Gran Chaco Lead will use the TNC Code of Conduct and Competencies as a baseline to conduct his/her actions and be an example to others.The Gran Chaco Lead will be based in Argentina, preferably in a city/town located in the Gran Chaco region. Work will be under the home-office modality.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:
The Gran Chaco Lead will be responsible to supervise and coordinate multiple technical and management activities in Argentina and Paraguay framed within the Regional EbA R2A Program, and will coordinate with the Program Manager and the management team at both, regional and national level. He/She will be responsible of leading the planning of meetings and workshops, providing technical support, preparing reports, and reviewing deliverables from external services to advance the implementation of the EbA R2A Program. He/She will lead the relationships with executing partners and with the different stakeholders, both public and private in the Gran Chaco region. He/She will manage strategic communications for internal and external audiences, respond to donor inquiries, and maintain program records. Job duties will also include frequent travel and fieldwork (meetings, training, field trips, visits to local producers and workshops).

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE**:

- Lead IKI Management Team in Argentina and Paraguay.
- Coordinate the technical planning for in-person and virtual regional meetings, workshops and committees for the EbA R2A Program in Argentina and Paraguay.
- Attend meetings for follow-up and execution of the EbA R2A Program.
- Supervise the narrative, for example in the preparation of interim semi-annual reports, and coordinate the elaboration of progress reports, in collaboration with the M&E specialist.
- Develop the vision for the Gran Chaco across both countries (Argentina and Paraguay), considering aspects of protection, regenerative provision of products, and climate-related initiatives in both freshwater and terrestrial ecosystems.
- Contribute to build the theory of change for the Gran Chaco Landscape to deliver effective impact.
- Ensure the program and the Landscape is efficiently described, reported on and adaptively managed internally, including the definition, monitoring and evaluation of management and impact indicators.
- Manage multi-disciplinary administrative and professional staff, with responsibility of performance management, training and career development. Establish clear directions and set stretch objectives for the program execution.
- Establish and maintain optimal standards of performance for the program while controlling costs and administering budgets.
- Responsible for ensuring that public and private funds are raised to meet program needs.
- Build cooperation from outside parties to accomplish program and program goals.
- Review technical deliverables for quality control and alignment with program objectives.
- Perform duties under general supervision and established guidelines.
- Make day-to-day decisions within the scope of work assignments and prioritize work independently.
- Demonstrate sensitivity in handling confidential information.
- Supervise staff, volunteers, interns, or temporary staff.
- Be willing to travel, work overtime, and work evenings and weekends as needed; and
- Fieldwork may involve some exposure to disagreeable elements and physical exertion and/or strain.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, agroecology, agronomy, natural resources management and 5-7 years related work exp
