**Responsibilities**:
**The Opportunity**
Latin America has become a very dynamic region in terms of regulatory environmental - many different new regulation proposals regarding front of pack labeling, nutritional labeling, food additive restrictions, new packaging requirements, taxation based on nutrient content, critical nutrient parameters, among others, resulting in a very challenging environment to influence local governments in order to develop science based sanitary regulations.
Just in the past year, the region has observed several new regulations regarding labeling that are already in place or will be in effect during the following years. The regulatory affairs resource has to actively participate and advocate on the external discussion, with other companies and with the government, and to connect internally to guarantee that is representing the company interests. After the formalization of the regulation, the internal workstream to execute the changes is normally led by the regulatory affairs resource in each country and requires the articulation with a lot of different areas. From a function perspective, some of the tasks to be completed are development of new labeling specifications, new artwork, manage current label inventory, request of label inventory extensions from local authorities, registration process, among others. And this occurs in parallel with all the other responsibilities, including innovation agenda.
**Your Impact**
**As Regulatory Affairs Analyst, your functions would consist of**:
The primary focus of this position is to enable formula and communication solutions; ensure regulatory compliance of ingredients, formulas and claims; develop the nutrition facts and ingredient labels and graphics according to regulation needs.
The person in this position is responsible for multiple brands and will ensure the accuracy and compliance of ingredient specifications, ingredient statements, nutrition facts, allergen declarations, claims and technical communications as well as accuracy of the regulatory information in the final artwork. The person in this position interacts and fosters RA perspective socializing it with key internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to R&D, Marketing, Procurement, Legal, PPGA and external associations. This position requires deep understanding of the countries covered regulations and the external regulatory environment as well as Pepsico processes.
Qualifications:
**Who Are We Looking For?**
- Required minimum 2+ years of deep on the job Regulatory experience. Preferred knowledge of national regulations as CAA, Mercosur.
- Preferred 1 years of technical R&D expertise
- Required minimum BS in Food Science or equivalent
- Enterprise business expertise
- Regulatory and external affairs knowledge
- Communication skills and ability to influence people
- Ability to interface effectively with internal and external partners
- Ability to provide regulatory guidance and direction
- Ability to prioritize workload, balance multiple tasks and work independently
- The person in this role needs to prove effectiveness in this position to ensure regulatory compliance, facilitate regulatory unlocks to enable innovation and renovation of the portfolio, as well as supporting regulatory external influence strategy to reduce regulation impacts considering the current complex external regulatory environment.
