Lead Business Analyst - Global Delivery Services

Role Overview: The Lead Information Security Business Analyst in InfoSec provides reliable, secure, and resilient technology services and solutions to support over 330,000 EY people. Information Security takes a proactive approach to protecting EY's brand through robust technical security controls, a clearly defined security strategy, and ongoing compliance and incident management programs designed to detect and protect against increasingly sophisticated threats against the organization. You will work with technologists and business specialists to meet the increasing pace of our business, leading to growth, exciting learning opportunities, career choices, and the chance to make a real impact.

The Opportunity: The key to this effort is the creation of a Business Analysis Service Lead role to champion the assessment, identification of opportunities, planning for improvements, as well as implementation of changes. The Business Analysis Lead is responsible and accountable for:

  1. Establishment of a consistent methodology, building an accepted consensus, promulgation, and implementation of an optimized Business Analysis practice.
  2. Leading a review and subsequent optimization for each activity/deliverable.
  3. Performing an assessment of each person on the Business Analysis team, setting clear, objective, and appropriate expectations for each team member.
  4. Providing a clear development plan to offer a path for each team member and serving as a mentor to guide their growth.
  5. Serving as a common point of review for project work assigned, giving feedback on assumptions, and aiding in assuring the proper questions are asked to garner improved outcomes.
  6. Guiding assignments and cross-training to empower the team to focus their knowledge while maintaining flexibility to meet scheduled demands.
  7. Defining and maintaining the vision and strategic direction for business analysis services.
  8. Designing and implementing business analysis processes and methodologies that align with organizational goals.
  9. Engaging with stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations from the business analysis service.
  10. Overseeing project allocation and management of business analysis staff.
  11. Ensuring that the business analysis team has the necessary skills, tools, and competencies to perform effectively.
  12. Establishing and maintaining quality standards for business analysis deliverables.
  13. Implementing quality assurance processes to ensure that business analysis work meets organizational standards and stakeholder requirements.
  14. Monitoring and evaluating the performance of business analysis services.

Skills and Attributes for Success:

  1. Acting as a bridge between the information security team and business units, fostering clear communication and collaboration.
  2. Strong ability to communicate fluently in English and adapt communications to various audiences, including Executives, Sponsors, Management, and project teams.
  3. Breaking down barriers of delivery with well-thought-out challenges and escalations, if necessary.
  4. Personal accountability to adhere to all required business analyst deliverables and requirements.
  5. Ability to collaborate across functional teams, cultures, and geographies and to build trust virtually.
  6. Extensive experience writing and reviewing business, user, and non-functional/system level requirements.
  7. Extensive experience in selecting and executing elicitation techniques such as Interviews, Exploratory Prototypes, Facilitated Workshops, Focus Groups, Observation, User Task Analysis, Documentation Study, Surveys, and overall Process Re-engineering.
  8. Solid understanding of the following requirement models: Stakeholder Categories, Actor Tables, Glossary, Context Diagram, Data Model, Class Model, Data Dictionary, Event Response Tables, State Diagrams, Business Rules, Decision Tables, Process Maps, Use Cases, and Activity Diagrams.

To Qualify for the Role You Must Have:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Project Management, or Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
  2. 7 years in a large corporate IT environment.
  3. Significant work experience in IT infrastructure and security projects.
  4. Flexibility to work outside typical hours, as required of a globally dispersed team.

Ideally, You'll Also Have:

  1. CBAP certification.
  2. Familiarity with the IIBA (BABOK) Practice Standards.
  3. Familiarity with the latest ITIL version.
  4. Experience in supporting a professional services and/or global IT organization.
  5. An understanding of Information Security tenets and priorities.
  6. Work experience in a professional services industry, preferred.
