Description

Summary:

The Field Operations Manager – Solar performs operations management of self-performing aspects of utility scale solar.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversees the project craft plan for all assigned solar projects and participates in the project kickoff when available.
  2. Analyzes and summarizes departmental activities to evaluate efficiency and accuracy.
  3. Reviews schedule management - Initial planning for a project and review during the project.
  4. Reviews project craft requirements and work plans within their disciplines.
  5. Performs budget management, assists in estimate reviews, budget preparation and monthly status reviews.
  6. Maintains a full understanding of all contractual obligations for the project and documentation of variances.
  7. Provides excellence and consistency in the management and delivery of the project, in-line with the client's expectations.
  8. Sets expectations with Superintendents to align with client and company quality program(s).
  9. Performs audit functions to ensure compliance.
  10. Supports Superintendents to ensure proper page turns, drawing reviews, and Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) template reviews are completed prior to work commencing.
  11. Strengthens and continually maintains client relationships.
  12. Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
  13. Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and Company Policies & Procedures.
  14. Issues resolution and support for internal/external areas.
  15. Reviews proposals and RFP's.
  16. Ensures Superintendents emphasize Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's) occur before scopes of work commence.
  17. Utilizes Safety Management Systems (SMS), Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and technical procedures.

Safety:

  1. Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action. Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
  2. Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.
  3. Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates "at risk" behaviors.
  4. Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.

Leadership:

  1. Fosters and demonstrates a workplace inclusive of creating opportunity, serving others, building trust, innovation, and exceeding expectations.
  2. Manages one or more direct reports.
  3. Participates in hiring and selection process to fill positions on the team.
  4. Communicates regularly with direct reports on goals, accomplishments, and information on policies.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or GED required.
  2. Bachelor's degree in civil/structural/electrical engineering or similar field preferred.
  3. 10+ years relevant construction experience in Renewables required.
  4. 7+ years supervisory experience required.
  5. Valid Driver's License required.
  6. Ability to travel domestically 51-75% of the time required.
  7. Safety and OSHA requirements.
  8. Total Quality Management.
  9. Scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera 6).
  10. Job costing or accounting software.
  11. Project Management.
  12. Contract management.
  13. Budget Analysis and Controls.
  14. QA/QC processes.
  15. Vendor and materials management.
  16. ISO systems.
  17. Functional competencies include business acumen, continuous improvement, collaboration, communication, and teamwork.

Compensation:

Anticipated base salary range: $173,000 - $204,000. The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
