About the Job

We are seeking a skilled and analytical Freelance/Contract Operations Data Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and writing SQL queries for complex datasets, extracting valuable insights, and translating those insights into dashboards. Your expertise in data visualization and advanced analytical techniques will play a crucial role in driving data-driven research studies within our organizations. The ideal candidate should possess a strong analytical mindset, proficiency in data analysis tools, and a passion for uncovering meaningful patterns in data.

What You Will Get to Do
  1. Data Exploration: Analyze large and complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and correlations with tools like BigQuery, Looker, and SQL.
  2. Data Visualization: Create clear and compelling data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to effectively communicate findings and insights to stakeholders. Develop interactive dashboards.
  3. Data Validation: Validate and verify the accuracy and integrity of analytical results by implementing validation techniques.
  4. Collaborative Insights: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of business needs and contribute to data-driven research.
  5. Example tasks: Work closely with stakeholders to define reporting objectives and translate those results into useful Looker dashboards.
What You Bring to the Table
  1. Proven experience as a data analyst, business analyst, or similar role, with a track record of analyzing and deriving insights from complex datasets.
  2. Must have 2+ years experience in SQL. (Experience with other data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python is a plus).
  3. Solid understanding of data visualization principles and experience with Looker. (Experience with other additional data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or open-source alternatives is a plus).
  4. Experience working with events data and nested data such as arrays and JSON datasets.
  5. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  6. Experience working with APIs (preferably REST or GraphQL APIs) is a plus.
  7. Understanding of ETL pipelines and data transformation best practices is a plus.
  8. Familiarity with Git, GitHub workflows, Jira, and software development processes is a plus.
