MIU City University Miami is seeking to fill the position of Adjunct Professor for Master’s in Business Administration – Business Information System (on campus). The professor will teach the assigned graduate courses for our Master of Science in International Business Administration and accurately track all students’ questions, assignments, and grades. The professor will follow MIU Educational Model for Hybrid education. We fully support our faculty's career and give them academic freedom. MIU currently is looking for professors able to teach on our Campus with knowledge and expertise in the areas of: Business Information Systems. General Description Of The Course MBA650 Business Information Systems* (3 US Credits) The course is designed to focus on the information systems adoption within a business enterprise. It addresses both the fundamentals of information technology and where, why and how those that run a company find it important to support business strategies and core processes with ICT systems. The use of information systems allows organizational efficiencies, increasing individual effectiveness and/or gaining a competitive advantage. Technological change, including information systems, can be one of the more prominent things in transforming the rules of competition, determining how an organization operates and whether it is successful. The course structure is designed to provide several segments that are viewed as integral parts of a logical and cohesive systems approach to managing information and information technology within a business: business operations and how information systems support these operations; information technology components: hardware, software, database and telecommunication networks; managing information systems within a business. Course Outcomes Define the digital business ecosystem. Students define a digital ecosystem as a network of interconnected companies or products. Implement a business intelligence model. Students implement a business intelligence model (BIM) to transform raw data into meaningful information. Examine the new professional profiles in data-driven corporations. Students examine new professional profiles of the chief digital officer, business intelligence manager, and digital marketing manager. Responsibilities To Include Assist and conduct classes on a weekly basis on campus. Review and update syllabus and all materials related to the assigned course. Active management of student’s forum and request through the LMS. Assess and guide students on all the completion of their evaluated assignments and tests. Elaborate and submit on a timely basis the Grading Report. Participate as a Jury member for Capstone dissertations at the end of the semester. Participate and engage with all Faculty training, activities, and meetings. Requirements A doctoral/terminal degree earned at an appropriately accredited institution in the subject field of the discipline and demonstrate familiarity with practical applications of the field. Discipline: Business or Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field. Experience teaching online, on-campus, or in hybrid format. Bilingual is a plus: English/Spanish. Education Doctoral degree in Business with experience in Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field. Or Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field with experience in Business.
