Job Summary:OpenGov seeks an experienced staff software engineer to be a crucial member of its Shared Components team.

This individual will join a fast growing, agile team responsible for developing new features and improvements that are used throughout our cloud-native platform and are the key to giving our users a unified experience.


Requirements and Preferred Experience:

  • Provide leadership at the tactical level and input into strategy and solve significant/unique problems where analysis requires an evaluation of intangibles.
  • Architect, design, and develop robust APIs and microservices using Java & a modern React UI to serve over 100k daily users across hundreds of customer communities.
  • Own the endtoend product lifecycle including collaboration with Product, Design, and Customer Success stakeholders
  • Deliver iterative improvements including performance to realize the product vision and roadmap plans.
  • Using an APIfirst approach, develop REST and GraphQL microservices that communicate with the OpenGov eventdriven platform
  • Participate in the CI/CD and DevOps automation initiatives to build, test, deploy, and operate on industryleading platforms & tools including AWS Cloud, Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Sonar, Argo CD, Grafana, etc.
  • Act as a key contributor to continuously improve the way the team collaborates and delivers while elevating the quality and business value of the product as well as the technical innovation and excellence standards of the team.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of professional experience and track record of developing highquality scalable code using modern computing languages in a selforganized agile environment (required).
  • 5+ years delivering software using an agile methodology.
  • 5+ years of professional experience with modern Javascript frameworks, e.g. React, Vite, (required)
  • 5+ years of experience building heavily utilized atscale consumerfacing enterprise SaaS software required using technologies such as Java, GraphQL, and relational databases.
  • Success building APIs, architected database models including SQL and NoSQL, and eventdriven patterns (required).
