The Analyst Moody's Local role will be responsible for the ongoing credit assessment of banks and financial companies in Argentina and Uruguay, following the relevant methodology, as well as potential exposure to other financial institutions.

The role will be focused on conducting initial and ongoing credit analysis of outstanding and new ratings for entities from these relevant sectors in the domestic markets, building and maintaining high-profile relationships with external market participants, including issuers and investors, and leading related research activities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct quantitative assessment of financial statements, economic and market data, and analysis of bond indentures, liquidity agreements, official statements, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing credit analysis on a dedicated portfolio of companies.
  • Actively monitor the portfolio and make recommendations for rating transitions in a timely fashion.
  • Formulate a cogent rating rationale and present this rationale in a persuasive fashion at the rating committee while leading the committee discussion.
  • Demonstrate rating judgment as evidenced by distinguishing among different entities at different rating levels.
  • Produce timely and relevant research on specific issuers, general credit trends, or sectorrelated issues that is indepth, high quality, insightful, and focused.
  • Build and maintain highprofile relationships with investors and issuers, interacting frequently based on industry and topical research written.
  • Develop Moody's Local franchise through intermediary marketing and visibility initiatives (e.g., conference participation).
  • Lead issuer meetings, including presenting key rating factors effectively and asking probing questions that result in substantive dialog about key rating issues.
  • Present credits effectively and comprehensively in rating committees and other internal analytical meetings.
  • Coach and develop associates analysts.
  • Graduate / secondlevel degree (e.g., MBA, Master's) required or equivalent strong academic background.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant credit experience e.g., at a bank, corporate, or investor (in a related field) preferred.
  • Welldeveloped analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of financial data analysis related to Financial Institutions.
  • Solid verbal, and written communication, and interpersonal skills in Spanish.
  • Intermediate English speaking and writing capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities within deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint,
  • Ability to adapt to change the environment and prioritize tasks accordingly
